How we compare
Who runs this site?
Liquidsvergleich is run by Liquid LLC and is an offering of the Holster brand. Holster varieties therefore appear in first place as “Editorial recommendation (Holster)” and are labelled as such. All other varieties follow alphabetically by brand or by match with the selected flavour profile. Full details of the operator can be found in the imprint.
Where does the data come from?
The information comes from the manufacturers’ product data: brand, variety name, nicotine strengths, nicotine type, fill volume and cooling effect. For Holster varieties, it is information from Holster. The data date is shown on every page under “Last updated”. We do not carry out our own measurements or laboratory analyses.
How are flavour profiles assigned?
Each variety is assigned to one or more flavour profiles, such as watermelon, berries or ice effect. The assignment is first made automatically on the basis of the variety name and manufacturer description and is then checked by the editorial team. Varieties with invented names from which the flavour cannot be derived are only assigned once a manufacturer description is available.
What do ✓, – and “not specified” mean?
- ✓ The information is available and applies.
- – The information is available and does not apply.
- not specified The manufacturer provides no information on this. We do not estimate values and never equate missing information with “no”.
For the cooling effect, “yes (by name)” is shown if the variety name suggests a cooling effect, for example through “Ice”, but no manufacturer information is available. Whether a cooling effect is created with menthol or another cooling agent is only stated if the manufacturer specifies it. The Holster ice varieties cool without menthol.
Flavour profile
We take the flavour profile from the manufacturer’s description and assign each liquid to a category, such as fruit, berry, fresh or sweet. This can be used as a filter. We do not make our own assessment of flavour or intensity.
Images
We only show photos of the original packaging that we have checked beforehand. We do not use images with watermarks, retailer logos or advertising overlays. If no checked image is available, the variety does not appear in the comparison. Mandatory warnings on packaging remain unchanged.
What we do not do
We do not award points, grades or placements and do not rate varieties of other brands. There are no prices and no links to retailers.
